Magnesium Elektron

Precision Magnesium Engraving Plates are lightweight, fast etching and environmentally friendly. They are used for a variety of applications, including foil stamping, embossing, thermal dies, flexography, plaques, awards, rubber stamp masters, fabric and leather embossing

For more than four decades, Magnesium Elektron has produced the industry standard in magnesium photoengraving plates. The quality starts at our facility in Madison, Illinois USA, where molten photoengraving-grade magnesium alloy is vertically cast into 3,500-pound slabs. Each high-purity slab is processed on two large rolling mills and then thermally flattened and annealed. The mill sheet is coated at our two state-of-the-art finishing plants in Findlay, Ohio USA, and Swinton, England, for shipment to engravers worldwide

Precision Magnesium Engraving Plates are available pre-sensitized with traditional Red Top™ photoresist or Hydro-Solve® photoresist. Sheets are also available uncoated (“mechanical engraving plates”) for computer numerically controlled (CNC) engraving. Our specially designed, complementary chemical products function together to produce optimum results for shallow or deep etching.

Magnesium is an excellent alternative for CNC engraving, and our mechanical engraving plate is ideal for high-speed machining that enables faster production and longer tool life.
